CLASSES AT THE HOLLYWOOD CLINIC

Auriculotherapy and Auriculomedicine

In response to the numerous requests from United States practitioners as well as those from foreign countries, I am now scheduling classes at my clinic in Portland, Oregon.

These will consist of 2 and a half days of intense hands-on training, from beginners to advanced. Class size will be limited to 3 persons. There will be patients and models to hone your diagnostic and treatment skills. This will consist of the latest points and treatments from Germany, France, Russia, and the USA, using advanced equipment. The cost will be 350$USD, and does not include equipment or books, except as noted below.

All levels of practitioners are accepted, needling or non-needling. Non-needlers will be using microcurrent and massage.

You will be asked to bring your own books and equipment with you. There will be some equipment available for purchase during classes.

It is advised to arrive the day before the class, and stay a few days after, to visit the local Northwest sights, which are amazing. You would be remiss not to see the Oregon coast, the Columbia Gorge, Mt. St. Helen’s volcano, ghost towns, Chinese and Japanese Gardens, the wine country and, of course, the Seattle area.

Note: Classes and seminars at your school or in your area are still available. Please enquire if you are interested in hosting a class

CME credits have been applied for –NCCAOM, and State of California.

Board Certified: American Academy of Pain Management, Auricular Certification Institute, NCCAOM

There will be hands-on labs and patients throughout the class.

Requirements:
Anatomy and Physiology. I will not teach an anatomy course during this. This is basic. I will cover useful adjunctive information. Both Western and Oriental traditions would be best, as both are used.
Differential Diagnosis. This is also basic, but I will expand on this topic during class, due to the wide variance in practitioners that take this class.

Medical or Health related licensure or employment.
Laser Pointer. Your equipment and books that you use everyday if you use ear therapy in your practice.

Filters/Hammers.
I will be ordering these prior to class. Please let me know if you need them. These are required for Auriculomedicine ( about 60-70$USD).

Required Books:
Essential Auricular Reflexes by Steve Meeker
Auriculotherapy Manual, by T. Oleson
Ear Acupuncture by B. Stritmatter

The 30 degree Protractor and White Stick are available during class.

All needles and other equipment will be supplied at no cost.

We also recommend the following microcurrent machines for all practitioners:

The NET 2000 - a handy portable French tip diagnostic and treatment (Nogier and others) device. Comes with accessories for face, neck, and CNS stimulation, it has many useful programs. With its’ case, it will fit in your pocket for travel or outcall, and will carry filters, needles, etc. I use this everyday. It was designed by an MD ear practitioner and works. 1450$ USD I carry these in stock at my clinic.

Stimflex 400 - (the 500 may be out next year). This is the granddaddy of American ear machines. It has the 8 Nogier frequencies and the French tip. This is the rock of clinical machines. 3800$USD, leasing is available. I can order this machine for you.

Both of these machines will be demonstrated and then used by students during class. This is a great opportunity to try them out and see which you prefer. These are NOT required, but are suggested. I have learned in my practice to by very precise, and buy the best you can afford, it is cheaper and better for you AND the patient in the long run.
